This movie wasn’t very high on my “to see” list but before I left for my holiday trip, there was a dearth of movies that I wanted to see. So Ann, Pat, and I went to see it on a whim. I’m glad we did. It was really creative and fun. It made us laugh out loud multiple times. I loved the premise that there are multiple universes, each with their own Spider-Man. I loved how diverse the people behind the masks were. And the movie was just plain funny. I would have given it a higher rating, but the last half hour or so devolves into a big battle as most superhero movies do. This battle seemed particularly pointless because it’s animation. I always wonder whether the 12 year old boys that these extended scenes are targeted at actually enjoy them or think they’re cool. But despite that, the movie was enjoyable and a sequel was clearly set up at the end.
